Which States Have Decriminalized Psilocybin Mushrooms?
There are some states which have decriminalized psilocybin shrooms. It means that possession of small quantities of mushrooms for personal use isn’t a criminal offense. The decriminalized states (cities) are:
- Seattle, Washington;
- Ann Arbor, Michigan;
- Denver, Colorado;
- Oakland, California;
- Santa Cruz, California;
- Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts;
- Oregon;
- Washington D.C.
Decriminalizing doesn’t mean that the use of magic mushrooms is legal in these states. It just means that the penalties for possession are reduced, and sometimes even eliminated.
Magic Mushrooms – Legal States (Grow Kits, Spores)
Grow kits and spores are legal in most states, because they don’t contain the active ingredient, psilocybin. However, some states have banned the sale and possession of grow kits and spores. These states include Georgia and Idaho.
Selling growing kits and spores with the purpose of producing hallucinogenic mushrooms is illegal in most states. It’s worth noting that even if you legally buy a grow kit, at the moment that you start growing the mushrooms, you become a drug manufacturer, and that’s illegal in most states.
