Have you ever heard of Psilocybe hispanica? It’s a newly discovered species of psilocybin mushroom and, according to recent studies, it may be the “holy grail” of psychedelics and magic mushrooms.

Psilocybe hispanica is thought to produce stronger and longer-lasting effects than other psychedelic mushrooms, and researchers are eager to learn more about its potential for treating mental health disorders.

Psilocybe Hispanica – History of Use

Psilocybe hispanica is a fungus in the family Hymenogastraceae, genus Psilocybe, section Semilanceata. The species was first identified by Mexican mycologist Gastón Guzmán in a 2000 research.

This fungus may have been used in ancient religious practices, as the 6,000-year-old Selva Pascuala rock art shows – the oldest evidence of such usage in prehistoric Europe. A more popular Psilocybe semilanceata is similar in appearance to P. hispanica.
